How Mega Volume Lashes Can Promote Healthier Eyelashes

FACT: Mega Volume does not equal Mega Damage.

In fact, the opposite is true. With correct isolation and placement, 0.03 mega volume lashes actually help promote healthier eyelashes than classics weighing approximately the same amount. Let’s start with the math and then move on to the logistics.

We did a study weighing each diameter of eyelash ranging between .20 classic eyelashes and 0.03 mega volume eyelashes. Every eyelash was weighed after being dipped in adhesive, just like you would dip a classic lash (that’s a lot of glue). The measurements consistently came out showing that fifteen 0.03 eyelashes, dipped fully in glue, weighed almost the same amount as one .20 eyelash, also dipped in glue. If we take into consideration the fact that there is no way we would use (or need) that much glue to make and apply this fan, we can see that fifteen eyelashes with just 1mm of adhesive at the end of the fan will weigh significantly less than a single classic eyelash. Recent studies based on eyelash weight have shown that anywhere from twenty-eight to fifty 0.03 eyelashes weigh about the same amount as a single classic eyelash. When we say we can create 15D fans (including adhesive) that are safe for a natural eyelash, we are actually being conservative! Isn’t that a beautiful thing?

Healthier than classic eyelashes on so many levels

Mega volume eyelash extensions aren’t just safe for the natural lash, they are actually healthier than classic eyelashes on so many levels. Where classic lashes are rigid and tough with too much glue, mega volume eyelashes are soft, flexible, and only attached to a small portion of the eyelash. This means that eyelashes can move more like they do naturally and will stay put longer than lashes that are constantly being tugged or pulled on when fully adhered to classic lashes. We also NEVER need to lash baby lashes - let them live their best life! As our Global Education Director likes to put it, “When using classics, you would even lash a fuzz if it meant a fuller lash line.” Mega volume fans that are sitting on healthy, full-grown natural lashes cover so much of the lash line that we can leave anagen lashes completely alone to grow in healthy and strong. This will keep the lashes in great shape throughout a client’s eyelash extension wearing life.

As a lash artist, our tweezers are sometimes far too important to us. It’s the only tool we need and we need it to work for eight hours a day, five days a week and if it doesn’t, we are “up a creek.”
