Protocol Step 5 — Softening Phase

Apply Step 1 evenly to the base of the lashes using the Bold Lift Brush or Long Micro Brush.

Ensure each lash is fully coated from root toward tip for even softening.

Process according to lash thickness, porosity, and resistance. Typical processing time is 6–12 minutes.

Remove thoroughly before moving to Step 2. Step 1 should be removed dry before neutralizing.

Professional Tip

Fine or delicate lash tips process faster than the base of the lash. When applying Step 1 toward the tips, do not leave product on the tips for more than 1 minute.

Always watch the lash, not just the timer.

PROCESSING TIME REFERENCE

Do not rely solely on the clock.
Actual processing time always depends on the individual client's hair structure and porosity. Use the times below as a guide only. You should begin neutralizing when you visually see the lash has become lighter in color and more flexible—this is your signal, not the timer.

Note: If you are using Lift Balm Adhesive, processing times may vary depending on the amount of balm applied.

How to Check Softness

Every 3–4 minutes, gently lift the Eye Processing Wrap and test a few lashes. They should feel soft and pliable with no resistance when you move them. If not yet fully softened, re-seal the wrap and continue processing.

What does Step 1 do?

Step 1 softens the natural lash structure so the lashes can be reshaped into a lifted position.

Why is cysteamine HCl used?

Cysteamine HCl is a gentler alternative to traditional TGA-based formulas and works gradually for more controlled processing.

Can this be used from root to tip?

Yes, this formula is designed for Korean Lash Lift techniques. However, lash tips are more delicate and should only be exposed briefly.

COMMON MISTAKES 

Under-Applying Product

Every lash needs to be fully coated. Missed areas will not soften evenly and may result in an uneven lift.

Over-Processing Fine Lashes

Even gentle formulas can over-process delicate lashes if left on too long. Always monitor lash flexibility during processing.

Leaving Step 1 Residue Behind

Any Step 1 residue can interfere with Step 2. Remove completely before moving into the setting phase.

Rushing the Process

Cysteamine works gradually. Do not dramatically increase timing or strength to force faster results.
